The American Society for Microbiologuy has published a paper titled ‘Inter- and Intra-Annual Bacterioplankton Community Patterns in a Deepwater Sub-Arctic Region: Persistent High Background Abundance of Putative Oil Degraders’.
This paper is related to new projects tackling plastics pollution in the ocean and a couple recent publications focusing on oil pollution in the Faroe-Shetland Channel.
The full paper can be read at https://journals.asm.org/doi/epub/10.1128/mBio.03701-20
A paper has also been published in the journal Microbiome reporting on the effect of a synthetic chemical dispersant and a biosurfactant for combatting oils spills at sea. Here is a link to the paper online.
