The MCCIP evidence review on ‘Ocean Acidification around the UK and Ireland’ has just been updated. In the past two years the literature has continued to grow, and the review paper includes recent developments in estimating air-sea CO2 exchanges, pH trends in the North Atlantic and more localised observations in UK Shelf seas. It also highlights the need for continued funding to maintain and build observational capacity, and the need for model uncertainty to be reduced.
The ‘takehome messages’ are summarised on the MCCIP acidification webpage, which also contains a link to the updated full review paper.
