New podcast series investigates future investment plans for UK marine research infrastructure

A new four-part podcast series has launched today, hosted by renowned ocean scientist and broadcaster, Dr Helen Czerski. The Future of UK Marine Research Infrastructure explores NERC’s Future Marine Research Infrastructure programme and its mission to secure long-term investment in the ships, buoys, satellites, autonomous vehicles and other tools needed to support world-leading marine science over decades to come.

Listen now.

In this series, Helen interviews leading voices from across the UK science community to tackle the big questions:

How do we secure funding for long-term marine research infrastructure?

Can we cut ship emissions and still do cutting-edge science?

Will autonomous tech replace scientists at sea?

Why should the marine research community get involved?

Sparking conversation

FMRI wants to hear from the marine research community. Questions, comments, and concerns can be submitted to www.FMRI.ac.uk/podcasts by the 20th of May and Helen will put them to the team for honest, open discussion on the final episode.
