Sea Scotland 2023 – pre-event and sponsorship opportunities for 18-25yr olds (deadline 5 feb)

Sea Scotland is an annual conference bringing together the marine community to debate critical issues facing the marine environment in Scotland.

For its 8th Edition, Sea Scotland will run two pre-events dedicated to young people!

A youth-led task force has been set up to provide a platform for young people to have their say on the marine policy issues that affect them and their local communities via an in-person and online youth Sea Scotland pre-event supported by staff from the Marine Conservation Society, RSPB Scotland, Scottish Environment LINK and The Scottish Wildlife Trust.

This is an opportunity to share ideas, learn from each other’s experiences and a real chance for you to discuss sustainable solutions to the issues facing the marine environment and have those ideas heard by leading marine policy makers from the Sea Scotland conference. The pre-event will also allow you to meet like-minded individuals, gain knowledge and experience that might be beneficial in a future career!

The task force has secured funding thanks to Sea-Changers to run an in-person event at the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s Montrose Basin Visitor Centre due to be held on 4th March 2023 for young people between the ages of 18-25 with a limited travel bursary available.

The task force would therefore at this stage like to invite applications for free tickets to attend the in-person event and to cover travel expenses.
