Associate Professor in Marine Ecology – University of Plymouth

The Marine Biology group in the School of Biological and Marine Sciences at the University of Plymouth is seeking a motivated marine ecologist to join the team. The successful applicant will have a demonstrable established track record in marine ecology research and teaching experience, appropriate for an Associate Professor (Grade 9) position (see linked the job description for details of responsibilities and employment criteria). The applicant must have previous experience of higher education, and have, or be willing to act in a leadership role in the future.

The Marine Biology group comprises 22 academics working in a wide range of areas including: animal behaviour, fish ecology, ecophysiology, deep-sea ecology, microplastics, coral chemical ecology, biogeography and anthropogenic impacts on marine systems. We run a foundation year degree, three undergraduate Marine biology degrees, a MRes in Marine Biology and in 2025, will be starting and MSc in Marine Biology. In this post, you will be aligned most closely with the BSc (Hons) Marine Biology and Coastal Ecology degree but will contribute to all programmes.
