Two scholarships are part of the SGSD scheme initiated in 2020, representing the School’s ongoing commitment to postgraduate research. Three scholarships, the Edwards Scholarships, are specifically for candidates conducting research in the field of spatial data science for environmental geography.
The successful candidates will receive funding for three years as follows:
- a stipend in line with UKRI rates, currently £19,237
- for the Edwards Scholarships only, an annual Research and Training Grant of £750 to £2000
- payment of tuition fees, whether home or international
Students funded from this call will also have opportunities to contribute to teaching within the School, typically taking on demonstrating, tutoring and marking duties. This will be paid separately and on top of the annual stipend throughout their studies.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday 12 February 2025 at 5pm (UK time).
