Description
Xodus are looking for an EIA Consultant with a marine mammal focus and experience of conducting environmental impact assessment. You would join our EIA team, working on a diverse portfolio of projects including offshore renewables, cables and interconnectors, electrification and oil and gas projects from project concept through to decommissioning. The work will cover United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as projects in Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America.
You will provide advice on marine mammal issues, particularly with respect to underwater noise. You will work with experienced marine mammal, underwater noise and consenting specialists to provide input to scopes of work ranging across project design, survey design, monitoring and mitigation, stakeholder engagement, data reviews, impact assessment and population modelling (e.g. iPCOD or DEPONS). Primarily, these scopes will be in support of offshore wind, tidal, wave or cable projects, but your knowledge could also be put to good use with our oil and gas clients.
Requirements
Qualifications and Competencies
- Eligible to work in the United Kingdom;
- MSc or PhD qualification in Marine Biology or related environmental discipline, or significant demonstrated professional experience;
- Familiarity with the impacts of marine activities on marine mammals and protected sites;
- Keen interest in, and knowledge of, offshore energy industries.
