Offshore Wind Team Recruitment – UK – SMRU

Are you an experienced marine mammal consultant looking for a new challenge? SMRU Consulting are looking to attract a highly motivated, experienced, and well-organised individual with a passion for the application of robust, evidence-based approaches to the assessment, monitoring and management of anthropogenic impacts on marine mammals.

We are expanding our offshore wind team and seeking professionals with a body of experience in consenting (and or post-consent support) and impact assessment to support our UK, Ireland (and potentially US) marine mammal consulting work. As part of our growing team, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting, challenging, and interesting offshore wind consent (and post consent) projects in the UK, Ireland and beyond. About you: We are looking to fill a maximum of two positions to bolster our offshore wind team. These are for either Associate Scientist or Senior Scientist (different combinations of positions may be recruited). We are looking for candidates with existing experience that can be applied to our current and future project portfolio, with a focus on the offshore wind sector and marine infrastructure projects although there may be the opportunity in the future to get involved in a wide variety of sectors and projects. Much of this activity is specifically related to the potential for impacts from underwater noise, a stimulating and growing field of marine mammal science. We are keen therefore to attract talented candidates with client-facing experience in this area.

How to apply:

please email a 2-page (maximum) document containing the most relevant elements of your CV and a covering letter (1 page outlining the position you are applying for, how you meet the essential requirements of the role and how it fits your interests) to info@smruconsulting.com. Please mark the amend the subject of your email to fit the format: “Associate Scientist – surname” or “Senior Scientist – surname”. Closing date for applications is 30th June 2024.
