We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the NERC-funded project “Empirical determination of the interaction landscape for temperature, CO2, and nitrate for a model diatom”. The PDRA will carry out and analyse laboratory experiments where diatoms are grown and their physiological responses characterised in single- and multidriver environments. The post involves substantial laboratory experiments and methodological innovation. The project requires collaborating with biogeochemists and ecosystem modelers, and presents an excellent opportunity for building a web of collaborations across different aspects of ocean global change biology.
This is a demanding but exciting opportunity for an ambitious and creative individual to develop their research skills and build their research network. Potential applicants must contact Sinead Collins for a more detailed description of the research project prior to submitting an application.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Experience with microbial ecophysiology or other trait-based laboratory experiments
- Excellent communication skills and track record
- Experience with data analysis and presentation
- Ability to problem solve within a group
- Excellent time-management skills
