Postdoctoral Researcher position in marine biodiversity – University of Helsinki (Finland)

The Department of Geosciences and Geography and the Tvärminne Zoological Station of the University of Helsinki invites applications for a 3-year Postdoctoral Researcher position in marine biodiversity.

Qualification and experience

The main task for the Post doctoral Researcher will be assessment of large scale marine biodiversity patterns and community responses to multiple drivers. Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in aquatic ecology or related fields. The successful candidate should have a strong background in ecological data analysis or species distribution modelling and interest in developing novel metrics of community stability. Excellent writing and communication skills in English are essential for this position.

Salary and benefits

The Post doctoral Researcher will receive a salary according to the University’s salary system for teaching and research personnel ( 3200
3800 €/ The University offers comprehensive services, including occupational health care, access to high quality research and sport facilities, and opportunities for professional development. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to work the first 20 months in The Department of Geosciences and Geography and the rest of the working contract i n Tvärminne, but the exact working periods are negotiable.
