The Fair Isle Demonstration and Research MPA Project Officer (“Project Officer) will ensure the effective ongoing coordination of the Fair Isle DR MPA, with a specific focus on delivering key activities to develop an effective, sustainable plan for the ongoing development and delivery of the DR MPA. The Project Officer will take responsibility for coordinating the DR MPA and supporting the DR MPA stakeholders in their involvement with the site, and will lead on the development of research and demonstration initiatives as linked to the DR MPA. They will organise DR MPA meetings and initiatives, provide support with associated administration and communications, and will lead on the ongoing development of fundraising to underpin the continued delivery of the DR MPA objectives.
The post-holder will have a degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in a related field. You will have strong administration, organisational and time-management skills and a dynamic and disciplined approach to work. Skills in a relevant field and experience of working with local communities would be advantageous. With excellent communication skills and an understanding of the context for community-led conservation, you will be a self-motivated team player, but equally able to work independently. You will have a proven ability to write for and communicate to a range of audiences and to work constructively with local community members and partner organisations.
