Research Fellow in Field of Fisheries Spatial Data Modelling, Climate Modelling and Data Analytics (National Subsea Centre) – Robert Gordon University

This is a full time role for a fixed period of 2 years.

RGU and the Net Zero Technology Centre have partnered to create the National Subsea Centre (NSC), a multi-million-pound Centre of Excellence for Subsea Research and Technology development. The NSC will harness the University’s academic expertise, research capability and facilities to establish a world-class research and development centre focused on tackling the underwater challenges faced by all marine industries tackling sustainable economic development.

We are seeking to employ a highly motivated Research Fellow in the field of fisheries spatial data modelling, climate modelling and data analytics for a period of 24 months. The successful candidate will be part of the National Subsea Centre (NSC), Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.

In this post you will contribute towards the development of methodologies and analyses techniques for fisheries spatial data with a view towards (i) understanding drivers of spatial patterns under current climatic conditions and (ii) estimating how climate change is expected to impact the spatial distribution of fisheries.

In addition to support the delivery of various research projects, you are also expected to support the exploitation of new opportunities with the funding bodies and NSC partners.
