Scientific Diver: Registration Terms and Conditions

By registering their details through the MASTS website, the registrant;

  • confirms to the best of their knowledge that the information they are submitting is correct and that all relevant qualifications, medicals, etc. are in date.
  • agrees that for any diving projects and/or operations arranged using information obtained through the MASTS resource map, it is the diving contractor’s (and during any diving operations, the diving supervisor’s) responsibility to ensure that all diving is legal.

The definition of ‘legal’ meaning that diving activities are conducted in accordance with current legislation (Diving at Work Regulations 1997 – DWR97) and that the HSE Approved Codes of Practice for Scientific and Archaeological, or Commercial Inshore/Inland, diving projects are adhered to. It is, however, a legal requirement of the individual to comply with DWR97 and the relevant Approved Code of Practice as appropriate to their role within the dive team (Regulation 4: DWR97).

  • agrees that MASTS retains no legal or financial liability, of any kind, in regard to property damage, personal injury or death resulting from activities (diving or otherwise) arranged using the information provided via the MASTS website/resource centre.
