Sunday 5th September

Holding the Ocean: call for participants

Renowned artist Eve Mosher is producing a creative piece around oceans and climate change as part of the Ocean ARTic project. Eve will be inviting communities to participate in her exciting creation by providing a voice to those fighting against and affected by climate change. Head over to to find out more.

Film: The Top of the World

We can’t wait to introduce you to our short film about the importance of the Arctic, released today. Watch this space!

Wednesday 15th September

Talk and discussion: “Voices from the Sea – What Does a ‘marine’ Just Transition look like?”

Tavis Potts, Director for the Centre for Energy Transitions, University of Aberdeen

Tavis will give a high-energy, exciting talk on future energy transitions for Scotland. Join us for the discussion and to ask your burning questions!

Friday 17th September

Take Part: Great British Beach Clean

Join Marine Conservation Society in cleaning up the beaches across the country, and participating in the nationwide litter citizen science project! On until 26th September, visit for more details.

Wednesday 22nd September

Talk and discussion: “What has the sea ever done for you?”

Katie Gilham, Head of Coastal and Marine Ecosystems and Use, NatureScot.

Join us for a fun and engaging talk by Katie on the importance of the oceans in the fight against climate change. How can we work with nature?

Event: Meet the Scientist

An opportunity to meet some of our top scientists, and find out about a day in the life of a researcher! Learn more about the importance of Arctic ice, discover how scientists study the ocean depths. As part of Explorathon at

Workshop: Holding the Ocean
