Scottish Ocean Literacy Coalition – July meeting
The Scottish Ocean Literacy Coalition, hosted by Scottish Wildlife Trust, is an opportunity for anyone interested in developing and improving connections between people and the sea.
Since our last Coalition meeting was in February, we will do a comprehensive recap of the work we have completed so far. This will be great not just for our newcomers, but also for our long-term members as it has been a while since our last gathering. Speaking of newcomers, we have a new chair, Ollie Slater, who is very excited to meet everyone and continue all the hard work built on by Rebecca Crawford.
Our next meeting will be held online via Teams on the 30th of July from 1:00-2:30pm. If you would like to come along then please RSVP by completing this Form. Also please feel free to cascade this invite to anyone you think might be interested – the more the merrier. We will send out an agenda ahead of the meeting to provide more information on the format and content as well as the joining links, so keep an eye out for it in your inbox.
Cat McCann, the Executive Officer at the Irish Ocean Literacy Network, will also be giving a 20-minute talk followed by a ten-minute Q&A. Cat has been working in science communications for over 20 years, with extensive experience in publishing and writing scientific articles for dissemination to a wide range of audiences.
Please let us know as soon as possible if there are any accessibility requirements that would help you to participate and engage fully and we will look to have those in place where possible.
If you are interested in the work of the Coalition but can’t make this meeting please let us know by replying to this email and we will make sure you receive a copy of the actions and minutes from the meeting, as well as any PowerPoint slides, and invites to subsequent meetings.
