As part of the decommissioning process for the Ninian Central Platform, the Petroleum Act 1998 requires CNRI to produce a Decommissioning Programme (DP). The DP sets out the measures to decommission the installation, identifying all the items of equipment, infrastructure and materials that have been installed or drilled and describes the decommissioning solution for each.
The DP is submitted to the Offshore Petroleum Regulator for Environment and Decommissioning (OPRED), who aim to be transparent in their consideration of decommissioning programmes. As a result, members of the public, other organisations, non-governmental organisations and other government departments or agencies are invited to comment on the proposals set out in a programme through a formal consultation period.
From Thursday 17th September, the Ninian Central Platform Topsides and Associated Riser Sections Decommissioning Programmes can be viewed online
Representations regarding the DP should be submitted in writing by Friday 16 October to carol.barbone@cnrl.com at CNR International (U.K.) Limited, stating the grounds upon which any representations are being made.
