Open call for experts within the Marine Sciences to deliver hands-on activities and public engagement for an evening event at Glasgow Science Centre. Friday 18th September, Deep Dive – “Set sail for an after-hours adventure as you dive into hands-on challenges inspired by real marine missions and research.”
Glasgow Science Centre Science Lates are 18+ evening events, featuring hands-on activities, guest speakers, invited topic experts and run from 18:00 – 22:30. Alcohol and food are served on the night, and this gives the Centre a bit of a nerdy party atmosphere, which our visitors love. Each event normally sees about 800-1000 enthusiastic yet non-specialist visitors who are interested in learning while having a fun night out with their friends. For our September event, we will be inviting our guests to complete a trail of hands-on activities which will allow them to become official ‘Ocean Explorers’. We are looking for highly impactful equipment, experiments that can’t be done at home, and anything that will inspire them to want to know more.
If you are interested in delivering public engagement at this event, please send enquiries to Alicia Robertson at aliciar@gsc.org.uk, no later than Monday, 17th of August. Parking and meal vouchers provided on the evening.
Tickets are on sale now for our entire 2026-27 Series. For more information about the Series, including who the add-on speakers are for each event, please visit our website: https://www.glasgowsciencecentre.org/whats-on/science-lates.
