MAST-Scotland Complaints policy

If you wish to complain to MAST-Scotland [Scottish Guarantee Company Number SC485726, Scottish Charity Number SC045259], please use the following steps:

  • First, speak to the individual providing the service you wish to comment on. The people closest to the situation can deal with most problems quickly.
  • If you are unhappy with the response or feel unable to approach the individual, please then email the MAST-Scotland Compliance Officer directly via email to MASTS@st-andrews.ac.uk or write to: MAST-Scotland, Scottish Oceans Institute, East Sands, St Andrews, Fife, KY16 8LB
  • Verbal complaints may be made by telephone to 01334 467 200 or in person to any member of the MAST-Scotland Secretariat.

 

Whatever method you choose, we will deal with the matter in the same way.

When complaining, please tell us:

  • your full name and contact details;
  • as much as you can about the complaint;
  • what has gone wrong; and
  • what outcome/resolution you are seeking

 

Fundraising

If the complaint relates to fundraising and the complainant has been through the Charity’s complaints procedure and remains dissatisfied; they may ask the matter to be reviewed by the Scottish Fundraising Standards Panel: https://goodfundraising.scot/

OSCR

As MAST-Scotland is a registered Scottish Charity the complainant can complain to the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) at any stage.
